Scrapbooking Room Progress day 2

Hey all, Phew I am exhausted!!!!! I have worked most of the day painting walls and I got a few cabinets done as well... the cabinets are hard to see in the photo against the white wall and I am thinking of doing something special , maybe a stencil on the cabinet doors?? Any ideas???

I am heading to bed so this is only a short post, I have just a couple of pictures to show you and I am very happy with how it is turning out... I can't get a really good picture, it is actually bigger than the picture is showing but there is a 1/4 of a wall in the center of the room which makes picture taking hard.

Isn't it bright!
Have a terrific day, I am going to start the ceiling in the morning and hopefully get some of my scrapbooking supplies in... I went with all white because as you know our scrapbooking papers and supplies are so colorful!

Scraproom progress

Hey,
Just dropped in to give you the low down on the progress of my scraproom! Yesterday I started but today I had to start over, the white paint I wanted wasn't that white, it had a green hue to it so today I went to the Hardware Store and got what I wanted and it is going on really nice.

I have all the edges and corners done and half of the walls in one coat of white paint, boys am I ever getting a work out, I suspect I will need lots of love and care once this is done, hehe! Just kidding , it feels so good to be this active, I actually broke a sweat!

Ok so the original room doesn't look that good at all and the color is really ugly, to top it off it is paneling, ICK!!!! Oh well, I have to work with what is there and I am too happy to finally have a space to craft so I will be grateful for what I have.

Ugly Space, I am almost to embarrassed to show it!!! The rest of the house is SOOOOO much nicer I assure you , lol (embarrassing chuckle) Just ask Christina!!!

This is one of the walls with one coat

This was the green I was telling you about... It looks really green against the white!!

Last evening Michael and I and Troy had a very fun time at the beach, here are a couple of  pictures of our adventure.

Michael built sand castles most of the evening and I roasted marshmallows, just look at how focused I was making the marshmallow perfect, lol.. I was the only one in the roasting mood , just look at that bombfire!!!!!!,
I mean , can ya even see it?

Have a great day!

Lots of Rosettes plus Techniques

Good Morning,
Where I have been busy planning my new scraproom and all my scrapbooking supplies are in the basement I thought, instead of making a card I would do something that didn't require a lot of running up and down the stairs to get supplies,  therefore I choose rosettes!!!

Rosettes are one of the most popular way to embellish your project these days and there are different techniques you can use to make them the way you want them. The most popular is to add a button and twine on top. I decided to experiement and this is what I came up with.

Christina had given me paper by Companion and the beauty of this paper is you have two colored papers on one piece of paper which can make a very interesting rossette!  See below!

The measurements for my rossette's are 12 inches long by 1 inch wide, I scored at 1/4 inches

Another technique is to use Tim Holtz distress inks on white.

A Blending Tool is a great investment, now that I have one I don't think I could do without it.

The white rossettes are the ones I choose to be inked so the ink would be more noticable. I inked them when they were strips on both sides, you only need to do one side if you are adding a button,  you can also ink the top when done, I tried it and didn't really like it much.

Another technique I used is Spectrum Noir! I randomly dotted the strip before making it into a rossette along with both sides.

Spectrum Noir are alcohol pens that are  used to color digital images, they are perfect for blending as long as you have the right paper!

This is my favorite out of all of them!!!!!

Have a terrific day!!!!!

Thank You Card

Happy Tuesday!

Today I am showing you a card I made to thank my mom for just being her, she surely is the loveliest person alive and I admire everything about her.

I had learned to water paint using Tim Holtz distress inks, and of course from the one and only!!!! Yeah, you guessed it right..... Christina!........... I thought I would show you my very first project, I am quite fond of the stamped image and I think other than the shirt I did fantastic!

See for yourself, if you would also like to learn from Christina start here for a video tutorial.

Ever so sweet!!!!!

Hello again!
I hope you all had a terrific weekend, mine was great for today was the first step in starting my new scraproom, the extra fridge and Stove has been removed, later this week the couch will also be removed then it is full speed ahead! When emptied I will paint the walls white and all the shelving that Troy has collected for me in just the past few days. Who hooo!!!

I was very relieved to hear my friends Christina and Griff had made it back to the UK yesterday, they called me straight away and I was able to breathe again. I miss them so much already and I would have them back again tomorrow....speaking of Christina, we did yet another project I am delighted to share with you!

Christina colored this ever so sweet digital image with Spectrum Noir Pens and I used my new Grand Calibur to make the edge of the card using egibilites and the flower!  Life is so much easier with the Grand Calibur, I prefer it over my cricut although I am sure I will be also putting the cricut to use many times when my room is set up.

Check it out, isn't she adorable!!!!!!
