Mega Monkey Mania Continues wth the Latest Saturday Sneak Peek

Oops!  Apparently I don't know how many days are in the month of August anymore because for some reason I thought that last week was the final sneak peek in August.  I'll blame it on the virus that has been raging in my system for two weeks now.  So let's try that again...

Welcome to the final final sneak peek of August! ;O)  We are at the midway point in celebrating Mega Monkey Mania over here as I'm about to reveal the third image of six.  We've met two monkeys so far, a set of siblings, Malia and Mortimer.  We've also been learning all about sock monkeys.  If you'd like to start at the beginning to catch up click HERE

So once again, you already know what the image is going to be.  So, in keeping with the last sneak peek I'm going to have you do some different guessing.  However, before we start let's behold what the latest monkey is going to look like...

So I have three questions for you to ponder over the next four days.
  1. What sex do you think this money will be?
  2. What do you think the name of the monkey will be?  I'll give you a hint:  Once again, it starts with M.
  3. What relationship will this monkey be to the other two (i.e., parent, sibling, cousin, in-law, etc)?
If you get ONE of these questions correct, I'll send you off a sentiment.  If you answer TWO of them correctly, I'll add a digital paper to the mix.  If you actually answer all THREE correctly, there will be another bonus in it for you.  Offer up your guesses by Wednesday at 12:00 noon EST in a comment on this post to be eligible.

DON'T FORGET...
there is still time to sign up for your chance to win Naomi's latest new release:  Malia!  Click HERE to find out how.

 AND...
don't forget that our DT call is on right now and we'd love to see you enter!  You can find out all the details by going HERE!

Have a fun filled crafty weekend my friends!  See you all on Thursday for the reveal.

Mortimer Freebie Take There/ I Want You To Pray

Hello! (Naomi here)
Sorry I didn't get the freebie in the store my peeps, I have been down with a fever and a killer ear ache (infection)..I hope I am on the mend for today I am feeling better. Things are a little bit crazy around here preparing for Michael's upcoming surgery and my  health.
I have something I would like you all to pray about, I am heading to town tomorrow  to the hospital to meet with the doctor to get my report back, I have been holding out on sharing with you all not wanting anyone to worry or actually to think negative for I believe what we think is what we are and what will happen.... I had a biopsy done on my cervix , it showed precancer on the outside and tom tomorrow I get the results on the inside...
To be totally honest it did startle me at first but I hardly think of it, in fact Troy had to remind me of my appointment  after I spent an hour planning the day at Red Point Park, hahahaha
My whole family , the women on mom's side all  had cervical cancer and all got treated and is still living with no problems so even if I do have cancer  it is not the end of the world...I will just get my uterus out and that will be that.  For now I am just going to wait and deal with the hand given me , never know maybe it is just precancer and can be treated very easily!!!
Please whisper a prayer for me and send good thoughts my way. Lots of love
P.S. Sorry I didnt' get by your blogs much in the last week.
Here is  Mortimer, don't you just love sock monkey's!!!!

Sorry Lisa for not getting it up and thanks for having my back as ususal...hugs

Enjoy!

Freebie - "Mortimer"

As you may know from last week, we are celebrating Mega Monkey Mania over here for a period of six weeks.  If you missed that post and would like to catch up click HERE.

Welcome to...

It is time for this week's introduction of the latest monkey over at Creative Bug Digitals.  This week I'm here to introduce you all to...

Mortimer

Click HERE to get "Mortimer".  Available from August 27th until September 10th.
After that it will be replaced with another freebie.
EDIT:  Mortimer is not available in the store right now.  It is available in another post until it goes into the store.  You can find it by clicking HERE.

It is time to continue our journey through the history of sock monkeydom.

In our last 'episode' I told you how sock monkeys came into being and we took a look at them from the late 1800's up to the 1940's in the US.  Now it is time to check out what was going on in Canada during that same time frame.  From the research I did, I found out that from the 20's to the 40's, we did not import Rockford Red Heel Socks.  Instead, people would end up using heavy grey wool work socks with red striped ends. These were sometimes referred to as Lumberjack Socks, or Hockey Socks.   Apparently, some of the women would end up embroidering large red yarn mouths on them and those monkeys became known as the Canadian Rockfords.  The sock monkeys up in Canada tended to be rather diverse in design as there wasn't a specific pattern to be followed.  As such, Canadian sock monkeys were often seen with very long tails.

Next week I'll continue to share some more of their history with you.

Now Jennifer from Krafty Keepsakes was able to help show off this cheeky monkey and created this card...

Mortimer is just perfect for a birthday card.  How can you not fall in love with that face and start smiling yourself?!  Jen has done a great job showcasing Mortimer.  Her use of the three primary colours really makes everything pop.  I also really love her buttons.  Such a cute card, right?

Special thanks to Jennifer for her contribution this week.

Sneak peek guesses...
So this week, I switched things up and had you guess at some ideas since you already knew the image was going to be a monkey of some kind.   The three questions I asked were:
  1. What sex do you think this money will be?
  2. What do you think the name of the monkey will be?
  3. What position do you think this monkey will be in?
Participant's had the opportunity to win up to three different prizes.  Well, I am pleased to say that nine of you correctly guessed the answer to the first question:  Yes the monkey is Male.

So, the following people have won a folder with three sentiments:
  • Ike
  • Fit Kitty
  • Stephanie
  • Julie Tucker-Wolek
  • Iris
  • katieo
  • Lisa
  • scrapunzel
  • Sherrie K.
Unfortunately, nobody was able to guess that the monkey's name was Mortimer.  Which brings us to the final question of what position the monkey was in.  There were some very creative guesses for this question such as:
  • sitting holding his knees
  • standing with with a music box
  • squatting like he is getting ready to jump
  • riding a bicycle
  • sitting
  • riding a motorcycle
Well, two people guessed that Mortimer was sitting so that means that the following people have won a digital paper:
  • Iris
  • Edwina
Winners, please send me an email by clicking HERE, putting "CBD Mortimer Guesses" in the subject line.

DON'T FORGET...
there is still time to sign up for your chance to win Naomi's latest new release:  Malia!  Click HERE to find out how.

 AND...
don't forget that our DT call is on right now and we'd love to see you enter!  You can find out all the details by going HERE
Finally, how about another monkey joke before I go...

Q:  What do you call a monkey with a banana in each ear?
A:  Anything you want, it can't hear you!

Well, that it is for me.  Enjoy the remainder of your week and I'll see you all on Saturday for the next sneak peek.
